Legends of the Martial Arts Masters $8.95 This exciting collection is made up of twenty dramatic adventures-with heroes ranging from Tamo, a monk who lived 1,500 years ago, to Robert Trias, who lived into the late 20th century. Filled with action, amazing feats, and martial arts wizardry, Legends of the Martial Arts Masters also promotes the virtues of discipline and courage to which martial artists aspire. The stories of how Gichin Funakoshi introduced karate to Japan, how Matsumura defeated a killer bull with guile instead of bloodshed, ad how Musashi won a duel without drawing his sword will dazzle students of martial arts. Legends of the Martial Arts Masters is ideal for young readers interested in stories of courage, combat, and self-discovery. |

Asian Martial Arts (Origins) $60.54 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Theories of the origins of Asian martial arts range from the highly diffusionist to models which show greater recognition of independent invention. There is a theory which claims Indian martial arts spread to China via the transmission of Buddhism in the early centuries of the common era. Proponents of this theory cite a popular legend about a prince turnedBuddhist monk named Bodhidharma (circa 5th century) who is said to have imparted his martial arts knowledge to the monks of the Shaolin Monastery, thereby founding Shaolin Kungfu. But historical records from the Southern and Northern Dynasties do not allude to Bodhidharma visiting Shaolin. In fact, the first mention did not appear in print until the publication of the Transmission of the Lamp in 1004, almost five hundred years after Bodhidharmas lifetime. Do you have problems ordering through "Century" Martial arts catalog?
Is it just me or does anyone else have the same problems I do when ordering though Century. I mean if I order belts for students they come in the wrong colors or sizes same with uniforms. and it seems like its always on back order or they only send half of what i order. It looks like for the place to be so over priced that is should be alble to get my orders right. Oh yeah and the last time i ordered weapons the lighted commas / chuks didnt even work. and the Shipping is so high I cant afford to make any money off the product itself.
Have you encountered any problems like this???
What Martial arts distributer do you use and why???
First I must say that Century is as bad as any McDojo. I bought from them when they first opened for business. They have proven that they are just greedy. It is evident in the crap they sell. 90% of the items they sell are simply cheap junk. I buy my martial arts supplies from Ryu Kyu Enterprises, in Orange California. They are distributors for Shureido. The R.E.I. brand Gi are almost exactly like the Shureido uniforms but are cheaper than the Shureido Gi. The weapons they sell, Bo, Sai, Nunchaku, Eaku, .....etc. are the real thing, not the crap sold by Century, Asian World, and the other prostitutes of the martial arts supplies business. The Sai they sell for example cost around $145-$185 a pair. but if you ever use a pair, you will never buy anything else. Having owned at least 10-12 different pair of Sai, the Shureido are the only ones I'll even use.
But you must also know that Ryu Kyu Enterprises and Shureido don't make lighted kama, or lighted Nunchaku, or any other flashy trashy weapons. They make and sell some of the finest uniforms, weapons and training equipment available.
As for Century orders..... All I can say is that when I was buying form them, I had no problems with getting the correct items, sizes, ....etc. But then they have grown so large that I'm not surprised if the company has lost its customer support.
