Karate Dummy
Are grappling dummys helpful for learning BJJ?

Ok so i just started BJJ and im really bad.I do it once a week and do karate 2 times a week.So i have some extra days.I was wondering if the grappling dummies i see online are actually good for practicing things u learn/learning things,or should i just work on it in class. Also is there aany way to practice without a dummy/person/anything.
Actually the dummy i was looking at was either 120 or 140 lbs which ever u choose

most likely unuseful. i mean they are like 80lbs at the heaviest. i don't know about you but i launch 80lbs off of me so you wount get the realism of an opponent pressing down on you and there is NO resistance what so ever. you will be able to pull off every move you learn and never have to transition to another. a BAD habit to form.

you CAN use the dummy for shripming, or throws (both of which i use one for) this helps your fluidity on the ground and fit-ins for throws VERY much.

Funny! Martial Arts Instructor Attacked by Dummy.
