cracking shoulders from karate training?
I have been doing karate for two years and I have problems with my shoulders. I guess my joints always clicked more than is usual, but it really worsened after months of vigorous and improper practising of reverse punch (doing it daily with full power and locking elbows). Now my shoulders (especially the right one) crack and are weak when I stretch my hands. I've been training less now for the past 6 months or so and I'm careful about it but it doesn't seem to get better. I don't want to go to a doctor with it as it is not really a problem, its just that it doesn't seem to improve. Anybody has an idea what to do with it? (e.g. some exercises, change of diet, strengthening or stretching certain muscles around the joint...) Thanks for any advice.
stretch well before AND after a work out. do yoga, swim, get a massage, see a chiropractor, and follow up with an orthopedist.
