That's weird someone else asked that one as well...
Anyways, in case you are different people it's fair enough you get the same hints.
So here is (almost) the same answer I gave to him:
For the benefit of all I can give some pointers for what umpires look for at your level (yellow belt)
1. Breath at the end of each movements, except when you do the continuous movement on movements #13 and #14 (low block and rising block) there you must keep the breath from 13 to 14 (a long shh) and exhale at the end of 14
2. Make sure your walking and L stances are good. Rear leg straight with walking stance.
3. Take your time between movement (it's call pattern rhythm), make sure each movement is finished (the trick is that if someone can take a picture of you at that moment it's good) However, keep the rhythm constant, it's like music
4. Make sure your wrists are not bend when you close your hands (punch and block). Meaning that your top of the hand needs to be in line with the forearm
5. Relax, not only for stress management but also it shows when someone is tense while they do their movements. They are not explosive.
6. Focus. So, do not look everywhere when you do the pattern. You should look where your imaginary opponent would be
7. When you are at Junbi position at the beginning look straight and focused. It always give a good impression when you look confident. But make sure to not look arogant ![]()
8. Make sure your last movement position is good. It's a spot where the umpires can compare with the other if you're fairly equal. If your ending position is better, well...
Remember one thing, you are yellow belt. They won't expect you to be perfect. But if you follow the guidelines I provided to you it should help a lot.
P.S. The picture that has been provided show approximately what are the positions in order. It doesn't exactly depict the position since the goal of that was more for memory help than the actual technical details. For instance the L-Stance looks more a fixed stance than an actual L-stance
