Tai Chi Fitness (DVD) $44.73 Tai Chi Fitness presents an overview of basic tai chi movements in a fitness-class format. Designed to accommodate groups of clients with different levels of experience in tai chi and various physical abilities, the class begins with a warm-up of qigong exercises and light stretching that will help exercisers limber up their muscles, “oil their joints, and increase circulation to their extremities. The DVD offers breathing cues that engage the attention of the class and help settle the mind into slower-paced movements. Based on Yang-style tai chi, the workout emphasizes coordination, balance, and body awareness, starting with hand techniques, stationary stance, and footwork, which is then followed by moving stances and combination drills. The class ends with more qigong exercises, deep stretching, and a short centering meditation to help let it all sink in. Among the topics covered: warm-up, set #1, set #2, set #3, and cool-down. Produced in cooperation with Inner IDEA. |

Tai-Chi-C! (DVD) $44.73 In Tai-Chi-C!, renowned group exercise leader Lawrence Biscontini presents an insightful overview of T’ai Chi – one of the most popular mind-body fitness programs in existence today. In recent years, the popularity of T’ai Chi in the Western fitness community has grown exceptionally. Appropriate for both exercise enthusiasts and fitness instructors, this DVD explains and demonstrates a fitness version of the Yang short form of the T’ai Chi Chuan movement form that is designed to both relax and stimulate the body. In slow detail, Lawrence reviews several of the ancient forms of T’ai Chi, including “wave hands like white, puffy clouds and “white crane spreads its wings and prepares to fly in twilight sky. Among the benefits that this DVD is designed to help achieve: an increased sense of balance, a better understanding of the many purposes of T’ai Chi, better core stabilization, and an increased level of brain/body/breath coordination. A good website or dvd to learn tai chi?
My doctor said I should try doing tai chi for my jionts and muscles. Where could I learn some moves online or a dvd?
I have no teachers around here.
you'd be surprised how many teachers are around you but don't advertise.... it sounds silly but find an asian restaurant(not a take out, an actual restaurant and ask). it sounds stereotypical but it works every time i move. if they don't know, they know someone who does.
we found one by accident the first time. he did his form outside every Sunday with his wife and kids, people just joined in. just commit 4 moves to memory each week and you'll get it in no time. very relaxing.... mind clearing..... and as your doctor suggested, very good for your body because of the strength and breathing control you gain almost magically but obviously is in the movement of the form
